Enrico Fagioli Marzocchi

Head of Corporate Banking

Biography

Following a degree from Bocconi University, Enrico has accumulated 40 years of professional experience with Arthur Andersen, Interbanca, Aletti and KPMG, specialising in corporate finance. He also worked with Salomon Smith Barney in London and was CEO of Efibanca and Meliorbanca.

He played a decisive role in managing the Non Performing Exposures (NPE) portfolio of Monte dei Paschi di Siena and handled the greatest securitisation of Non Performing Loans (NPL) ever realised in Italy. He was also called upon to participate in the bailout of the Veneto banks and created a joint venture to establish one of the major debt-collection operators.

At illimity, he heads the Corporate Banking Division that offers services to Italian SMEs from performing companies with potential (including those with low or no rating), via crossover financing, acquisition financing and factoring, to non-performing companies (those that are unlikely to pay) but which have potential, through refinancing, new financing and the acquisition of existing receivables. In this role, he demonstrates his extensive knowledge of the domestic entrepreneurial market and his financial skills when it comes to relaunching key ‘Made in Italy’ companies. Enrico is married to Carla and they have three children: Giacomo, Benedetta and Camilla.
