Girls Without Lipstick

Giulia Perona and Giulia Cuter
explain the purpose of Senza Rossetto

What difficulties are young women called to face to overcome discrimination and prejudice? How to become everyday heroines without superpowers?

Giulia Perona, social media editor for Vanity Fair, and Giulia Cuter, expert in editorial marketing, met each other at the Holden School in Turin. Together, through the inspiration of technology and digital, created and still conduct Senza Rossetto, on Italy's most listened feminist podcast. How? Explaining how Italian women behave, supporting their stories with data and using an original but realistic narrative style.

Senza Rossetto was born in 2016 to analyze gender discrimination from a constructive perspective, and in 2018 it was defined by Rolling Stones Italia as the best feminist podcast. Each episode identifies the contradictions of women, from yesterday as today, through the unpublished story of a contemporary Italian author. Now in its third season, the literary podcast is accompanied by a bi-weekly newsletter out on Fridays.

The unique style in describing personal experiences that every woman can identify with, led the two creators towards the publication of their first book, "Le ragazze stanno bene" published by HarperCollins Italy, in which they retrace and describe the fundamental life stages of every young woman without taboos and words.

The authentic voice of the two contemporary writers guides us with simplicity in the narration of daily life little battles, that each of us has fought.
