Innovation & creativity: how to design a banking startup from scratch

Diversity is a competitive value: different backgrounds can provide a heterogeneous set of talents, skills and experiences; different approaches to work can give rise to innovative ideas. At the base of this model there is the value of people, freedom of thought and expression.

From Belgrade to Bogotá, passing through the FinTech capital of Italy, Andrea Gojakovic and Carolina Rey Bedon tell us how their worlds came together and how they managed to combine data and design in order to create a bank close to people and businesses based on creativity and innovation.

Andrea, Data Science & Modelling Manager and Carolina, Digital Strategy & UX Design Specialist, met three years ago when illimity was a startup that had yet to be built. What they knew was that the new bank would live on innovation and human touch in every dimension. This was the foundation to start building a bank that was "different" from all others, one that always encourages thinking outside the box and looking beyond.

Our illimiters, at the event of illimitHER inside the 4 Weeks 4 Inclusion, will explain how to leverage data, technology, User Experience and the sharing of ideas for a new way of thinking and designing cutting-edge banking services.

The Speakers

Andrea Gojakovic
Data Science & Modelling Manager
Andrea has recently become Team Leader of the Data Science & Modelling branch of illimity. She was born in Belgrade in 1991, where she obtained a Master in Electrical Engineering and then another one in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. After a short period in consulting, she embraced the illimity project from the beginning, designing state-of-the-art solutions to manage the data platform based entirely on Cloud technologies.
Carolina Rey Bedon
Digital Strategy & UX Design Specialist
Carolina was born in Colombia in 1990 where she graduated in Design with emphasis on communication and began her career path in Editorial Design. Fascinated by travel, cultures and photos, she arrives in Milan in 2014 to do a Master in Visual Brand Design in Domus Academy. After working in branding she lands in illimity in 2019 to launch, together with the Design team, the bank beyond the form.
